The Local Offer for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities
We are committed to the government’s Closing the Gap agenda and aim to give all children the very best start in their education.
We are part of North Yorkshire County Council’s 'Local Offer' for children with special educational needs and disabilities. We provide individualised education for all children including those with complex and/or multiple health, social or educational needs. We work closely with individual children, parents, North Yorkshire’s Sensory, Physical and Medical Teaching Service, the Children’s Development Unit at Airedale hospital and other outside agencies if appropriate, to promote educational achievement, and social and emotional development for children with vision, hearing or physical and/or medical needs.
Our full special educational needs and/or disabilities policy will soon be downloadable from this site, but is available in hard copy on request at the Centre.
Children of all ages with special educational needs and/or disabilities are likely to be eligible for extra funding to help with fees. Please speak to Caroline or see our help with fees page for more information.
